Vinyl clad wood playsets are built much like the wood playsets but with the additional feature of the exposed wooden parts of the structure being covered almost completely with vinyl (two exceptions are the underside of the playhouse tower floors and the underside of mountain climber corner 4x4's). The primary structural component is pressure treated southern yellow pine with structural select grade used at some points. The pressure treatment has been approved by the EPA for residential use and enables the wood to withstand decay and termite infestation when exposed to the elements. In addition, some playset parts are made from poly lumber, stainless steel, powder coated metal, zinc plated metal, and similar weather resistant materials though of course some evidence of weathering is still expected and normal. All vinyl clad wood playset parts are warranted by the manufacturer for five years against defects in workmanship or materials; structural components for the playsets are warranted for twenty years.
